US based streetwear label, Premium comes strong for their 2016 Fall/Winter collection, accompanied with some great imagery shot by Cam Hicks for The Upsetter. Hailing from Washington, D.C., the design of the clothing and art direction behind the lookbook takes inspiration from the Southwestern regions of the US, specifically the flight over Nevada to Los Angeles, C.A.
On this topic, the brand said, “Nevada the desert, a place generally thought to be devoid of life. But looking down from the airplane’s porthole you’ll see a vibrant palette of colors. Sienna Orange in the mountains, Pond Green in the trees, Tusk White in the sand, and Vintage Black in the shadows. These are the colors that we draw from this season.”
The collection is comprised of premium basics, free from branding and graphics. The styling in the lookbook effectively shows how layering the different items, even numerous items of the same colour, can work. The Dylan Jacket in 12oz Italian Denim is a personal standout, with a unique stonewash and distressing featuring antique nickel hardware. Top marks for the lookbook; simplicity done well.
